About
Employment
Students are employed full time (M-F, 9-5) by a prominent Boston area organization for 7 weeks during the summer. Employement dates for summer 2024 are Monday, June 24 to Friday, August 9, unless otherwise approved by the DLI Director and host organization.
Supervision
Students are supervised by a professional at the host organization. The DLI Director also meets with each student on a weekly basis for the first half of the summer. A performace check-in will occur at the midpoint of the fellowship to ensure expectations are being met by all parties.
Professional Development
Students engage in professional development every week through site visits to the host organizations. Led by the DLI Director, 2-3 organizations are visited each week, usually on Wednesdays. Visits include a tour of the organization, presentations by organizational leaders, and conversations about the professional world. Virtual site visits occur as needed.
