About
Employment
Students are employed full time (M-F, 9-5) by a prominent Boston area organization for 7 weeks during the summer. Employement dates for summer 2025 are tentatively scheduled for Monday, June 23 to Friday, August 8. (Dates subject to change pending winter snow days extending the academic calendar.)
Supervision
Students are supervised by a professional at the host organization. The DLI Director also meets with each student on a weekly basis for the first half of the summer. A performace check-in will occur at the midpoint of the fellowship to ensure expectations are being met by all parties.
Professional Development
One day per week students engage in professional development by way of site visits to the organizations that host summer fellows. Led by the DLI Director, two organizations are visited each week, usually on Wednesdays. Visits include a tour of the organization, presentations by organizational leaders, and conversations about the professional world. Virtual site visits occur as needed.
